Hi, I’m Angela. I draw portraits in pencil from the photographs people send me: their dogs, their children, their parents, their wedding day. Every one is drawn by hand, from my studio in Milton Keynes, and I’ve completed more than 2,000 of them since 2009.
If You’re Looking for a Pencil Artist, You’re in the Right Place
- Every portrait is drawn by hand, in graphite pencil, by me. No AI, no digital drawing, no printing. What you receive is an original drawing on paper.
- You approve the finished drawing before you pay the balance. I email you a scan, and the balance is only due when you’re happy with it.
- I’ll tell you honestly whether your photograph will work. If a different photo or crop would give a better portrait, I’ll say so before anything is booked in.
- Turnaround: within four weeks of the deposit, often sooner.
- Every portrait comes with a free black card mount, ready for framing, and is posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

How It Works
- Send me your photographs and tell me which size you’d like.
- I’ll look them over, advise on anything that would help, and confirm the price.
- A 50% deposit books your drawing in.
- When it’s finished, I email you a scan for your approval before you pay the balance.
- Your portrait is posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed flat with protective card.
My usual turnaround is within four weeks of receiving the deposit, and often sooner.

About Me
I started drawing professionally in 2009, after my husband bought me a set of art pencils and a pad to draw our son around his first birthday. That drawing started the business. Since then I’ve drawn more than 2,000 portraits from my studio in Milton Keynes, and nearly half of my commissions come from customers returning for another.
Common Questions
Are your portraits really drawn by hand?
Yes, every one, in graphite pencil on paper. I don’t use AI, digital drawing tools or printing at any stage. What arrives in the post is the original drawing, and if you’d like to see the work in progress, just ask and I’ll send you a photograph partway through.
Where are you based, and do you deliver across the UK?
I’m in Milton Keynes, and I post portraits anywhere in the UK for £15 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which is guaranteed next working day and signed for. I also post internationally, with postage quoted when you enquire.
What do I need to send you to get started?
Just a photograph and an idea of the size you’d like. Ordinary phone photos are fine; most of the pictures I work from are exactly that. If you’re not sure the photo will work, send it anyway and I’ll tell you honestly.
Can I see the drawing before I pay in full?
Yes, always. When the portrait is finished, I email you a scan, and the balance is only due once you’ve seen it and you’re happy. A 50% deposit books the drawing in; the rest waits for your approval.
